A Day on Parliament Hill On April 23, St. John Ambulance held its first-ever Day on the Hill. Volunteers from across Canada met with some 60 Members of Parliament and Senators to speak about the programs and services offered in communities all across Canada. Parliamentarians were encouraged to recognize St. John volunteers at events in their communities and to nominate Canadians for the St. John Ambulance Lifesaving Awards. Parliamentarians were also invited to participate in a CPR/AED course that will be offered on the Hill in the coming weeks and it St. John’s hope that they will champion the cause of first aid and CPR training. QUEEN ELIZABETH II DIAMOND JUBILEE MEDAL
2012 marks the 60th Anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth’s II accession to the Throne. The Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee medal has been created as a way to honour Her Majesty for her service to Canada.
The First Aid Instructor Training in Haiti (FAITH) project is underway. St. John, in partnership with the Haitian National Police (HNP), will work together to build the HNP's capacity to train its officers in first aid and CPR. Read more
