Job Description Our British Columbia and Yukon Council is seeking Community Transfer Team Members for our Provincial Head Office. You are a compassionate individual who will work within a team to assist in the safe transport of clients. You will take the appropriate actions to get to a positive outcome and ensure that all duties and responsibilities are delivered with high quality, in a timely and professional manner.
The Community Transfer Team Member shall:


• Ensure that a quality brand image is conveyed by St. John Ambulance BC & Yukon at all times;
• Consistently and effectively communicate the St. John Ambulance vision;
• Be responsible for the safe transport of clients via stretcher or wheel chair to and/or from a healthcare facility, nursing home, or private residence.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing excellent customer service at all times;
  • Taking the appropriate actions to efficiently get to a positive outcome;
  • Driving an ambulance, and establishing and maintaining communication with the Customer Care Team;
  • Provision of patient care in accordance with provincial standards;
  • Assisting in the safe maintenance of the ambulance, equipment, and supplies;
  • Maintaining adequate records in accordance with organizational and provincial standards;
  • Identifying and reporting safety/security issues;
  • Performing other related duties as required.

 

Requirements:

• Valid OFA 1 or higher, Medical First Responder, Emergency Medical Responder, or higher medical designation;
• Valid CPR and First Aid (Level C);
• Valid Class 4 Drivers License preferred;
