Wilderness First Aid Level 1

Course Description

St. John Ambulance Wilderness First Aid is a comprehensive program for those who live, work, and play in rural or remote areas. This specialized first aid and safety course focuses on how to take care of a casualty when medical help is more than 30 minutes away or unavailable.

The program focuses on adapting First Aid skills as needed, based on availability of supplies, the environment, and additional factors encountered in a remote setting. The program is intended to compliment wilderness survival training and does not replace that skill set.

The Wilderness First Aid Level I course is designed to fit into one working day of 8 hours (with at least half the time being spent in an outdoor setting).

Participants will receive a Wilderness First Aid Level I certificate that is NOT assumed to meet any specific workplace requirement.
