Well-trained and well-equipped, St. John Ambulance Medical First Response volunteers are at countless public events (sporting, cultural, musical, etc) to provide basic and advanced care when emergencies occur. By being there, St. John Volunteer Medical First Responders are “first on the scene” and the “first to respond” in the critical minutes until medical assistance arrives.
Volunteer Medical Response Services are provided at a variety of community settings including:
- public gatherings
- sporting and recreational activities
- disaster or civil emergencies
Volunteer Medical Responders provide lifesaving first aid and help reduce the risk of further injury or illness.
Without the assistance of our Volunteer Medical Responders, many community-based organizations would not be able to offer first aid coverage at public events. The cost of hiring individuals or groups to provide on-site first aid coverage would be prohibitive for many smaller organizations.
- community involvement
- advanced first aid and health care training and experience
- life skills to benefit personal career development
