First Aid Response Services

Content Summary - banner item 1

Well-trained and well-equipped, St. John Ambulance Medical First Response volunteers are at countless public events (sporting, cultural, musical, etc) to provide basic and advanced care when emergencies occur.

Content Summary

By being there, St. John Volunteer Medical First Responders are “first on the scene” and the “first to respond” in the critical minutes until medical assistance arrives.

Medical First Response Services are provided at a variety of community settings including:

  • public gatherings
  • sporting and recreational activities
  • disaster or civil emergencies

Medical First Responders (MFRs) provide lifesaving first aid and help reduce the risk of further injury or illness.

Without the assistance of our MFRs, many community-based organizations would not be able to offer first aid coverage at public events. The cost of hiring individuals or groups to provide on-site first aid coverage would be prohibitive for many smaller organizations.

  • Life skills to benefit personal career development

  • You must be at least 16 years of age or older;
  • Strong affinity for providing first aid and CPR to others,
  • Physical and mental capability to assist injured or ill patients, and
  • Obtain a police record check (with letter from the organization).
