In-class: Complete this fast-paced, one-day course in person at your local SJA office.
About the course
This course meets first aid requirements under the BC Ministry of Health - Community Care and Assisted Living Act.
It also meets the requirements for Canada Labour Code Basic First Aid.
Who is this course for?
This course is designed for people who provide care for infants, children and/or adults in licensed adult care and childcare facilities.
It is also suitable for:
- federal government employees
- home care providers
- coaches
- care support workers
What does the course include?
The course includes training on:
- Opioid poisonings
- naloxone administration by both intranasal and intramuscular methods
Certificate:
A participation certificate will be issued upon successful completion of this course.
Successful completion also includes a CPR Level B and AED certificate.
Important
This course meets the requirements for Canada Labour Code Basic First Aid, but it is not recognized as equivalent to WorkSafeBC Occupational First Aid Level 1.
