Meet Kito Lam!

Volunteering Since 2020

As a Medical First Responder, I take pride in serving my community, providing first aid, and ensuring the safety of event participants. In our unique partnership with Toronto Paramedic Services, I work alongside paramedics at major events, making my volunteer experience truly memorable. Additionally, I plan SJA's medical coverage for large events like the Toronto Pride Festival, Toronto Caribbean Carnival, and the Canadian National Exhibition. This role also allows me to support fellow MFR volunteers by organizing specialized training and giving them opportunities to provide patient care under the mentorship of on-duty paramedics. My favorite part of this role is witnessing the growth of other MFR volunteers through our shared learning experiences.

How Does It Feel to Give Back?

"Community service has been a central part of my life, beginning with St. John Ambulance when I was 7. Around that time, my family received invaluable support from volunteers and hospital staff during a loved one’s cancer treatment. Now that they’re a cancer survivor, I feel driven to give back and continue promoting kindness."
