Meet Nevaeh & Kennedy!
Volunteering Since 2018
Kennedy and her beloved therapy dog, Nevaeh, have been bringing smiles and comfort to communities across the province since 2018. Over the years, they've made countless connections, but one visit will always hold a special place in Kennedy’s heart.
At Ronald McDonald House, a home for families whose children are undergoing medical treatment, Nevaeh curled up beside a child who had been having a tough day. The child hadn’t spoken for hours, but the moment Nevaeh rested her head on their lap, everything changed. The child smiled, whispered “puppy,” and reached out to pet her gently.
In that quiet, tender moment, the room was filled with an almost magical sense of healing. It’s a reminder of the profound impact therapy dogs like Nevaeh can have on the lives of those they visit, offering calm, comfort, and connection in ways words cannot.
Whether in hospitals, schools, or care homes, Nevaeh and Kennedy continue to bring hope and support, reminding people they’re never truly alone, no matter how challenging life may feel.
How Does It Feel to Give Back?
“I still remember the moment we got accepted into the program — it changed everything. It’s an honour to bring a bit of joy and support to people during their hardest days. This work means the world to both of us.” – Kennedy H.
