Ensure Compliance With CSA Standards
To align with CSA Standards, Ontario has introduced updates to workplace first aid requirements to enhance safety and preparedness. Whether you’re starting your compliance journey or ensuring your standards are up to date, St. John Ambulance has the resources and support you need.
We offer the first aid program in English and some services in French. To find a First Aid Program training provider that offers the full program in French, please visit the WSIB First Aid Program website.
With the widespread adoption of the CSA standard, SJA will be removing the term “Emergency First Aid" from our website and aligning our language with the CSA's use of “Basic First Aid" This change also applies to content for federally regulated organizations.
The content and requirements themselves are not changing; this update is intended to keep our terminology consistent with the national standard and provincial expectations.

CSA-Compliant First Aid Kits
Since 2021, St. John Ambulance Ontario has been selling kits designed to comply with the CSA Z1220-17 Standard. There has been no change to first aid kits.
