This first aid awareness course provides learners with the knowledge to recognize and provide interventions for life-threatening emergencies until medical aid arrives. Topics include: CPR, AED and choking for adults, shock and unconsciousness, severe bleeding, head and spinal injuries, major medical conditions and mental health awareness. Interactive course design with simulations, videos, and illustrations, with built-in knowledge checks and quizzes to test what you’ve learned.
Cost covers online course only; the blended certification track will include additional cost for in-person assessment and exam. If you would like to upgrade to a certification after completing this awareness course, please contact your local council by either calling 1-800-989-3787 or the contact us page to make arrangements to attend an in-person session. (This option is not available in Ontario)
