Course Description

This course is intended to Quebec companies wishing to evolve in a safer work environment and comply with the regulations of the CSST. The CSST subsidizes the course of First Aid in the Workplace in order to ensure that employers and main contractors of construction sites comply with the regulations regarding the minimum standards of first aiders and first aid care.

  1. The roles and responsibilities of the first aider and regulation
  2. The management of an emergency situation, the assessment of the situation, the clinical evaluation and the secondary assessment
  3. State of shock and fainting
  4. Chest pain, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and automated external defibrillation (AED) – adult subject
  5. Airway clearance - adult subject
  6. Medical complications ( respiratory difficulties, convulsions,diabetes, allergies)
  7. Severe bleeding
  8. Eye injuries
  9. Burns
  10. Minor and complex wound care
  11. Chest injuries
  12. Professional intoxication
  13. Head and spinal traumas
  14. Heat stroke, hypothermia and frostbite
  15. Trauma to the extremities
  16. Administration of adrenaline - known allergic subject
