Business Development Coordinator

One year internship
35 hours per week
SALARY RANGE: $19.50/HR
REPORTS TO: Executive Director
PURPOSE OF THE JOB :
Actively promote and sell SJA training products and services across the Northwest Region to prospective and existing customers to meet revenue targets and help grow the business.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES :
- Identifies, researches and pursues client prospects and community event organizers to generate new business for the Branch and promote saving lives at work, home and play
- Meets with prospects regarding the potential sale of SJA products and services
- Builds and maintains key relationships with significant clients of the branch
- Assists in the development of sales and marketing materials and presentations to support sales
- Understands and can clearly articulate all SJA services and products to potential clients
- Remains current with competitors’ products and services as well as legislative changes and other business-related aspects that may have an impact on the sales function and/or other related Branch activities
- Meets with Director of Business Development regularly for support on various sales and marketing activities, product knowledge and support, as well as sharing of best practices
- Attend networking / sales events including but not limited to Chamber of Commerce, Trade shows etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Director
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE :
- Post-secondary education preferred in a related field; some business development experience
- Solid organizational and problem-solving capabilities, along with being a strong team player
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; both written and oral
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage numerous tasks simultaneously
- Working knowledge of contact management databases and other digital sales tools
- Ability to work within a self-directed environment
PARAMETERS:
- The nature of the position will require occasional evening and weekend work
- Travel within the region
